Daniel Santo Pietro

Daniel PiertoSince 1998 Daniel Santo Pietro is the Executive Director of the HDANJ, a network of thirty-one Hispanic organized community based organizations in New Jersey. He previously had nearly twenty-five years international experience in working with non-profits. He was program director in Northeast Brazil and Assistant South America Regional Director for Catholic Relief Services and Latin America Director for PACT, a consortium of international development organizations.

Daniel served in 1997-98 on the Governor's Blue Ribbon Panel on Child Protection Services and in 1999 on the Governor's Early Childhood Advisory Commission. In 2000 he was a founding Delegate of the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey and continues on its Board of Delegates. He serves on the board of the NJ Immigration Policy Network and NJ Citizen Action. In 2005, he co-chaired Governor Corzine’s Department of Human Services transition advisory group.

Daniel received his B.A. from Harvard College. He was a Fulbright scholar in Brazil and completed his graduate work in Political Science and Latin American Studies at Stanford University. He is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.
