José M. Pérez

José M. PérezJose M. Pérez has over 30 years experience in the private, government and nonprofit sectors. He is the Vice President for the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey (LLANJ). As Vice President Mr. Perez works closely with the LLANJ President on Latino healthcare policy, the organizing of county chapters, policy development and strategic planning. Mr. Perez was the Latino Outreach Director for New Jersey Governor Corzine’s 2005 Gubernatorial Campaign, the Chief of Staff to the President of Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh North Carolina, and the Interim Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina.

He was the President of the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance, Inc. (SINA) in Hartford, Ct, where he was responsible for developing and implementing SINA’s $195 million neighborhood revitalization initiative. Mr. Pérez is also the former Assistant Secretary of Economic Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under Governor Michael S. Dukakis. Mr. Pérez has authored numerous reports relating to community and economic development, and Latino Political Empowerment.
